Lots of new thing going on at the store. Just got in some new tapestry at a great price, so we are passing the saving along to you.We’ve been making cushions,pillows and curtains from the wildlife prints. Every Sat. morning we offer needle felting classes. This is so much fun and relaxing.A supper way to spend your down time.It seams like a lot of customers are coming in for help with there knitting project. We do take the time to help anyone who needs it.

Our Store Location

Imelda’s Fabric & Designs sits high above the Sandy River at the junctions of Route 2 and 134 in New Sharon, Maine in a building that was constructed between 1867 and 1870. The building was originally home to a woolen coat factory, a creamery, a tennis racquet factory and has a long history as home to industrious and diverse Maine family businesses.

Now the building houses Imelda’s Fabric and Design. Three floor of products, including tapestry, wool, cotton, fleece, satin, burlap, felt, fleece clothing, blankets, and used furniture, yarn, jewelry, bags, remnants, hats, mittens, dog jackets and much more. Many of the materials are purchased as closeouts or remnants of top name brands, and are sold at very reasonable prices.

In a friendly, comfortable atmosphere, customers are encouraged to browse, and ask questions. Owner Janet Kennedy offers handmade fleece clothing, bags, blankets, and other items sewn right in the store. She also offers custom made items such as cushions, curtains, pillows etc. Custom slipcovers, upholstery and drapes can be arranged. Ideas and helpful hints are abundant. Encouragement and enthusiasm is offered freely.

TAPESTRY CUSHIONS

This is one of the new item made here this week. Eleanor does a great job making cushions here and I need to show it of.This is a 6 foot long by 20″ wide cushion with a perfect match in 4 places.The fabric was only 54″ wide and we needed 60 so we had to insert pieces on both ends. The fabric is called Peters Cabin and it is a nice tapestry. The picture was hard to get it all in and show it up close.
